ACADEMIA
Emotions can offer logical data!
- Emotional Intelligence is when we use appropriate emotions to facilitate rational and logical thinking
- Emotional intelligence influences professional behavior
Teaching our students an awareness of EI is foundational to developing their Non-cognitive Competencies of Professionalism:
- Communication/Collaboration
- Honesty and Integrity – TRUST
- Altruism / Advocacy
- Respect
- Responsibility and Accountability
- Compassion and Empathy
- Dedication and Self-improvement
- Self – awareness/knowledge of limitations
Application of EI SKILLS:
Ability to:
- Establish trust with others
- Develop shared goals
- Motivate self & others
How?:
WRX employs only Evidence-based Teaching & Evaluation of EI skills
At present the Mayer, Salovey, Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT) (TM) is the only objective psychometric tool available to measure EI. The MSCEIT aligns with the EI Blueprint; the only ability-based model research critics have deemed as the gold standard for teaching and scholarly discourse.
